Artist’s Statement: My Artwork explores a significant era of my time. That year is 2012. The work exists as a sacred monument reflecting upon the greatest time I have ever lived through, juxtaposing this against the bleakness of 2013 and 2014. Chronos is the Greek God known to control time, and I acknowledge this notion through an abstract exploration consisting of white magi clay, hand modelled to produce a symbolic representation of my experiences. There are several objects portrayed as realism revealing an important reminder which I personally cherish. The photo on the right side is the back of the work. The abstract nature contained portrays the hidden subjective meaning from the artist. The audience viewed it as an unknown relic. The truth is that it is attempted realistic work of my deep desire of my time in the year 2012. The photo on the next page is the front and main piece of the work. It is centrally located here to draw in the sacred power of my time of 2012. The gigantic 1 cm3 work conveys the intimidating presence of my cheerishment to forge a religious like icon to the auidence. The pieces were broken up in three as several time periods within the year. Soon, they were joined together to embody the power of 2012.
