2017, Black and White film The film was based on the instructed theme of “luminosity”. This peculiar term for light inspired me to forge something unique. Inspired by Anish Kapoor’s “blackest black”, I made a film which had the persona to completely shield himself from the light. It became very frustrating that he even decided to paint himself black! The additional scenes contain his day to day life and annoyance when confronted with the sun. The decision to make the film in black and white was to project simple nature of the persona and how even the simplest of life desires cannot be met. The film is in the link below. Please note! Some scenes may be disturbing to some viewers. As a result, viewer discretion is advised. One scene I wish to note is the face painting scene. It has coincedently been portrayed as offensive. I wish to express my condolences to anyone who I accidentally offend and state the work is only in the intention as art. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUmbUP2gTWA&t=9s The top scene contains the scene where the persona is having his shower. To his pleasure, as the paint is washing off, so too is the film brightness. The left scene is his control of the small existing light. Soon enough due to his hatred of light, he gets rid of the candle light, oblivious to other light yet to engage him. The next page scene contains his happiness in full flight. Despite the slight invasion of light in the footage, the scene being mostly dark leads to his ultimate pleasure. Its thats successful, that he even danced to Michael Jacksons “Blood on the Dancefloor”.
